Dr. Randy Lizardo has been accredited as a Master Surgeon in Minimally Invasive Gynecology by the internationally recognized Surgical Review Corporation. As a Certified Surgeon of Excellence, he sees patients from around the world seeking his surgical expertise in the management of fibroids and endometriosis. Dr. Lizardo now concentrates solely on gynecologic health and specializes in minimally invasive treatment options which include advanced laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, vaginal and robotic surgery. His techniques allow patients to recover faster and have fewer complications than more traditional surgical approaches. Over 99% of is patients go home the same day of their procedures and most return to regular activity in days rather than weeks or months.
As an active educator, Dr. Lizardo has performed live surgery and has spoken at local and national conferences. He is a physician proctor for both laparoscopic and robotic surgery, where he travels and teaches surgeons minimally invasive techniques to other surgeons. As an Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The George Washington University he has received numerous awards for medical student and resident education. He also volunteers his skills participating in international surgical missions.
GWU is also where Dr. Lizardo completed his medical school and residency training. He served as administrative chief resident of his program and was named the resident physician of the year upon graduation. He also received the Award for Overall Excellence and Demonstrating the Highest Level of Technical Proficiency in Surgical Obstetrics and Gynecology.
On an administrative level, Dr. Lizardo was the Founding Chair of Robotic Surgery of Holy Cross Hospital. He is the former president of the Medical Executive Committee at The Maryland Surgery Center. He also serves as the Laser Safety Officer and Medical Director of Cosmetic Injectables at The Renew You Med Spa.
Outside the office, Dr. Lizardo and his wife enjoy traveling and trying the local cuisine. He spends a great deal of time with his large family and enjoys physical fitness and being outdoors either fishing or snowboarding.

Dr. Lizardo performed my surgery in November 2025. I traveled all the way from Atlanta, Georgia, just to have him complete my procedure because he’s the best! He successfully removed a large number of fibroids, and my scar and recovery time were minimal. I don’t know how he does it, but he’s a miracle worker! I was able to fly back to Georgia within 5–7 days after the procedure.
In contrast, my twin sister had her surgery in Georgia, and our experiences were very different. She was on bed-rest for an entire month and endured severe pain afterwards. Her scarring was extremely large, and she felt like she had undergone a C-section. She couldn’t even walk for a while. She wishes she had chosen Dr. Lizardo for her surgery.
I am incredibly happy with my decision to select him for my procedure. He is also professional and extremely likable. He makes you feel comfortable and at ease, as if you have known him for years. Don’t tell him I said this but he is also funny — let’s keep that between us!!

I cannot recommend Dr. Lizardo enough. It is rare to find a doctor who is as deeply human and empathetic as he is. From the moment I walked in, I felt truly listened to and never rushed.
